Knowledge & Experience / Historic & Today
Since his entry into real estate in 2002, Tim Swan has excelled by leveraging his complex understanding of Los Angeles combined with his creative approach to marketing. Tim has excelled as a result of his ability to help people identify their needs and goals for the present and future, combined with his talent for managing transactions. In addition to his sales practice, Tim is the manager of Berkshire Hathaway's Brentwood office-one of the most successful offices in the country, consisting of some of the Top Agents for the company nationwide.
Born and raised in South Miami, Florida, Tim is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to real estate, Tim spent 17 years in the entertainment industry as a Location Manager, Production Supervisor, and Producer. This industry experience was essential to his professional development as a Realtor and Branch Manager. Tim has literally logged thousands of hours coordinating budgets, schedules, and scouting every corner of Los Angeles, while negotiating hundreds of deals. This gave him a tremendous opportunity to learn the unique, defining characteristics of each specific neighborhood. The range of personalities and professionals that Tim successfully worked and negotiated within his film industry career, (both above and below the line), were the perfect preparation for the very similar, challenging field of real estate.
A highly effective negotiator and communicator with a capacity for matching people with the perfect home and lifestyle, Tim's intimate knowledge of the L.A. market and constant focus on providing a pleasant, hassle-free transaction experience have earned him referrals and trust from a substantial base of clientele, and fellow Agents.
Tim applies his creativity and negotiating skills to the individual needs of his clients, thereby providing buyers and sellers with optimal results. As a consistent award winner for his sales production, he believes his success has been due to his discretion and sense of accountability to his clients, along with his understanding of how to research and manage transactions. Tim treats his business as a true professional, thus remaining current on local, state, and federal laws governing the business. In addition, he incorporates a high standard of ethics into his business and every deal he manages; practicing preventative litigation efforts to save his clients countless hours, hassles and funds.
Tim donated five years of his time to serve as the Los Angeles Mayoral Appointed Board Member for Whitley Heights' Historic Preservation Overlay Zone (HPOZ), in addition to serving four years as a Board Member for The Charitable Foundation for Berkshire Hathaway, formerly Prudential California Realty. Giving back to the community is an absolute imperative for Tim and he does so at the close of every transaction. This can be to a charitable organization of his client's choice or to one of Tim's favorite charities, which include neighbor preservation, local animal rescue and adoption agencies.
